Grade descriptors

7 (High Distinction)

Your blog goes beyond that of an assignment piece. It contributes to the professional conversation on inquiry learning. If someone found your blog in a Google search they would be interested to read it and comment. You can proudly use this blog as an example of your professional digital footprint with stakeholders such as parents and the senior admin team at your school (or equivalent if you are in an adult learning context). Your blog may have X-factor (originality, creativity, flair).

Your analysis, recommendations and design is expertly informed by the theories and concepts you have learned in this unit. The way you apply and integrate the theories and concepts demonstrates your high level of understanding and application to your teaching practice. You reference the theories and concepts throughout.

It is clear that your blog uses the affordances of a web-based format to excellent effect.

Your blog is at the Analysing, Evaluating and Creating levels of Bloom’s revised taxonomy.

6 (Distinction)

You have engaged competently with the reflective tasks. Your writing is clear. Your blog uses the affordances of a web-based format to good effect.

 Your blog is at the Understanding, Applying and Analysing levels of Bloom’s revised taxonomy.

4 (Pass)

The blog reads like an assignment. You provide most of the necessary details in order to analyse and design the unit.

You have drawn on limited theories and concepts. You appropriately reference the theories and concepts throughout your blog. You demonstrate conceptual understanding and practical application.

Your writing might have occasional problems with expression, grammar and spelling. You have not used the web-based format to full advantage.

Your blog is at the Understanding and Applying level of Bloom’s revised taxonomy.

3 (Fail)

The blog reads like a draft of an assignment. You would not be proud to disseminate your blog to stakeholders such as parents and the senior leadership team.

You have details missing. One or more essential blog posts are missing.

You have drawn on a limited range of theories and concepts.You provide procedural details rather than demonstrating conceptual understanding.

Your writing might have problems with expression, grammar and spelling. Referencing might be patchy. You have not used the web-based format to your advantage.

Your blog is at the Remembering level of Bloom’s revised taxonomy.
